‘Printing Music Nr. 2’ is part of a collection of 4 short pieces, along with ‘Printing Music Nr. 1’, ‘The Ritual of Reading’ and ‘The Author’. The pieces were composed for the ‘Lirum Larum Lesefest’, Freiburg’s annual children literature festival. 

Before the beginning of the compositional phase, this project included a research phase in collaboration with Lee Ferguson, a founding member of the Black Forest Percussion Group. The Project’s theme was ‘Lesemusik’ (‘reading music’). During that period, among others, we visited a book printing shop, where we recorded some sound material which I eventually used to create the electronics track for ‘Printing Music Nr.1’ and ‘Printing Music Nr.2’.

The pieces would be performed live by the Black Forest Percussion Group, however due to COVID restrictions, music videos were made instead by Marc Doradzillo.
